Studio ( Private and semi-private instruction)

Before starting an Iso Fit programme every client is required to undergo an assessment / initial consultation.

Each client is required to complete a comprehensive registration form and is therefore encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes early. This is a document in which the client provides lifestyle, health history and personal details. This information is held in strict confidence by Iso Fit and is used not only during the assessment session but also in conjunction with the client progress report, throughout this client’s tenure at Iso Fit.

The initial consultation is a one on one session and is conducted primarily to:

  • Assess strengths, weaknesses and areas of concern (if any).

  • Explain anatomically what the client’s body is doing and why.

  • Gauge and analyze the client’s postural alignment.

  • Accumulate the necessary information required to design a training programme to suit the individual needs of the client.

  • Provide answers to any questions that the client may have about the Iso Fit training programme.

The individual oriented programme provides the closest possible supervision. Private sessions guarantee one on one supervision with an instructor of choice, wheras the regular programme or semi private programme provides for a maximum of 2 clients per instructor and clients are alloted their instructor of choice whenever possible.

Clients are encouraged to attend consistently and if possible at least twice a week. This will make progress achieved from set to set all the more rapid. As far as possible, appointments are made to suit the convenience of the client.

Group Session Programmes

With the opening of our New Studio in November 2002, Iso Fit began offering clients-ladies and men of all ages and fitness levels- a full schedule of Pilates and Gyrotonic® training in the dynamic and immensely enjoyable Group Session format.

While adhering to the principles of Pilates and
Gyrotonic® without compromise, the Group Session adds an exciting dimension to training as the teaching follows a more structured and dynamic pattern with the accompaniment of music providing a sense of rhythm and flow.

The group sessions are carefully designed and organized in terms of content and scheduling in order to meet the requirements of a diverse range of clientele and are conducted according to a pre-planned format. Each client, athlete and beginner alike benefits from the session in her or his own way and is challenged accordingly.
Enjoyment level is high.

As a maximum of 15 clients will participate in the Pilates Mat and GyrokinesisŪ classes and 10 clients in an Allegro Pilates Reformer class, the instructor is able to adequately cover the session's work while at the same time affording each participant a significant degree of attention.
According to professional surveys carried out in the US where Group Sessions have been conducted for a number of years, client benefits in the group training environment have been remarkable.

Although the session material is pre planned, each instructor contributes her individual flavour to the content so adding a degree of spontaneity and diversification to each session.

All participants are required to take a Group Assessment session and complete the Iso Fit registration form before joining classes. The Group Assessment session is a one on one session and is conducted primarily to:

·         Assess strengths, weaknesses and areas of concern (if any).

·         Explain anatomically what the client’s body is doing and why.

·         Gauge and analyze the client’s postural alignment.

·         Provide answers to any questions that the client may have about the Iso Fit Group training programme.

Group Assessment session will familiarize clients with safety, postural and breathing concepts and the basic functions of the Allegro Reformer, so that they will integrate into classes easily.

• Please see Schedule of Group Sessions and Session prices for our provisional schedule and price structure.

Allegro and Mat Combination Class

This class combines Allegro and Mat work all in one!

The class duration is 75 minutes during which you will work on both the allegro machine and the mat.

The mat work will incorporate props like baby arcs, foam rollers and magic circles to further challenge core muscles and stability.

You will see how the Pilates work can translate from apparatus to floor and how you can challenge movements that you are already familiar with in a totally different environment.

Is it the perfect combination for those who have worked on the allegro and never experienced the mat work and vice-versa.

Gyrokinesis Yoga® - The method systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises. The movements stimulate the body's internal organs and different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated.

The classes start with self massage and simple breathing patterns to awaken the body. The next focus is on the spine and the pelvis. Seated on low stools the class mobilizes the spine through a series of arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiraling movements. The movement patterns are expanded to release the hips, knees etc in all possible directions.
Fluidity is the key. Postures are not held for long periods at a time, instead they are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making the exercises appear and feel more like dance than traditional yoga.
Horvath’s methodology invigorates and re-educates the body to move with fluidity, relaxation and power.

(max participants-15, prerequisite-none)

Pre-Natal Pilates - Pilates is the perfect workout for mothers-to-be. By practicing Pilates during pregnancy, expectant mothers benefit can: strengthen the lower abdominal region to support the growing baby and thereby alleviate lower back pain; tone the pelvic floor muscles in preparation for delivery (and aid in recovery); and develop an awareness of deep breathing to assist movement, among many benefits. Pilates is based on controlled motion, thus there is little risk of jerky movement and overstretching the ligaments and joints. Because much of the work centers on strengthening core control muscles, attention is focused on directing blood flow and oxygen to the abdominal region; nourishing for both mother and baby. This course presents a blend of both mat work and Allegro exercises, with modifications for each trimester to enable participants to achieve optimum shape for the much-awaited arrival of their little ones. Consult your physician before commencing a new exercise regime during pregnancy.

( Max. 8 participants.)

Post-Natal Pilates - Pilates offers the perfect post-natal workout and can be practiced by mothers in varying post-natal stages. Primarily, Pilates strengthens the core control muscles of the lower abdominal region and pelvic floor, creating a muscular “corset” to support the spine; strengthens and lengthens the back muscles; and blends toning and stretching to alleviate muscular tension arising from repetitive physical movement (bending over, carrying, nursing, et al). It can also help participants re-discover pre-pregnancy body awareness by focusing on balance, posture and breath to facilitate movement. The course incorporates both mat work and Allegro exercises for optimum toning in minimum amount of time. Participants should be at least six week post-partum and have physician's approval to begin exercise regime.
