Maria had her first Pilates class in 1995 while studying in the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. Since then she furthered her dance study in Laban Centre, London and performed in the West End London. Upon her return to Hong Kong in 2002, she got her Polestar® Pilates Studio certification and gain her Gyrotonic® Foundation System certification soon after. She also completed a Yoga Teacher Training by Stephen Thomas in 2008.
She is also a certified Gyrokinesis® Trainer and a Gyrotonic® Pre-trainer. She is certified on all the Gyrotonic® specialised equipments, as well as in its therapeutic applications with relation to the psoas, the shoulder girdle, scoliosis, and the pelvic girdle.
Besides travelling around the world to further her study in Gyrotonic® and movement studies, Maria also loves sewing, baking and playing musical Instruments such as Electric Guitar and Bass Guitar and keyboards.
