“The ultimate aim is to be at home in one’s body, to be at one with the nature of oneself, and to experience exercise as a creative and delightful experience.” – Juliu Horvath, creator of the Gyrotonic Expansion System®
Lorna feels blessed to be doing what she truly loves every day. Introduced to clinical Pilates in 2002 as part of a rehabilitation program, she enrolled in the Body Arts & Sciences Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training as soon as she could after her recovery. In 2004 she was invited to teach at the Pilates Studio in the Aberdeen Marina Club, taking on a management role in 2006. She left AMC to open AiR Studio in 2012 and in 2014 Lorna joined the team at Isofit.
Lorna became a certified GYROTONIC® teacher in 2010, and a certified GYROKINESIS® teacher in 2015. The Gyrotonic Expansion System® has been a powerful catalyst for her own explorations into self-discovery and the integration of body, mind and spirit. Naturally curious and observant, her passion for learning and self-development continues adding layers to her understanding of the interface between the physical, emotional, and energetic planes where movement is a form of meditation and the benefits are more than simply physical. Lorna is currently undergoing training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and will be a certified BCST therapist through Body Intelligence in 2020.
