Jasmine Webb-Johnson

Pilates Instructor

They say pain is a great motivator. Jasmine started practicing Pilates in 2009 at the behest of a friend to help with her back, hip, shoulder and neck pain. She played basketball, netball, volleyball, tennis, and athletics throughout her school years, and suffered countless injuries. Later, her work as a writer and sub-editor of a newspaper - hours hunched over a desk and computer combined with unaddressed injuries - started a long series of pain problems. It wasn’t until she started having children that constant pain started to severely affect her quality of life. She credits years of determined rebuilding of herself physically and mentally, with the help of a compassionate and patient instructor, with saving her life. As someone with a degree in education, Jasmine recognizes the power an instructor can have to make or break a person’s confidence and image of themselves. The desire to “pay it forward” and help others made the decision to train and qualify as a Pilates instructor a natural progression.

Jasmine is a certified Polestar Pilates Mat, Reformer and Studio instructor. She is also a trained GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Method teacher. Since qualifying, she has been working at the same studio where she first started her Pilates journey. She is proud to serve the community that has supported and cheered her on during the various phases of her Pilates evolution. Besides her dedication to serving people of all ages, Jasmine is also passionate about using her sports background to teach Pilates to teens, especially sport active ones, to prevent injuries as well as encourage positive body love and awareness.

Jasmine sees herself as a lifelong student - her curious nature makes exploring and trying varied ways to approach and teach movement as necessary as it is fun. She also sees herself as a living example of how movement heals the body, mind and spirit. It is this connection between movement and the self that continues to fascinate Jasmine and why she sees her role as a movement facilitator as a humbling responsibility and privilege. She enjoys working with others and believes that sharing and exchanging stories, thoughts and ideas are essential for personal and professional growth and evolution.

“The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power.”
